Getting to Know Marcia
Marcia's experience includes over 40 years in the field of education and church leadership. Recently retired as Assistant State Superintendent for Student Support in Washington, she had been a junior high teacher, a teacher educator at the University of Washington, Washington State University, and Seattle Pacific University.
Active in her home congregation, the Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd in Olympia, Marcia has had numerous leadership roles at the district and synod level. As chair of the North Pacific District Council of the ALC, she was the first chair of the Regional Coordinating Council for the new ELCA Region 1. She is a Certified Lay Minister in the Southwestern Washington Synod of the ELCA.
