Adult  Education Study Guides for the PBS Series Documentary on the National Parks (Available now:  Free Religious Study Guides and DVD of Film Clips from the documentary by Ken Burns ) Earth Ministry is an outreach partner that is offering free download of two religious study guides to complement the film: a four-session Christian education course, And God Saw That It Was Good; and a one-session interfaith course, Awakening The Spirit.  A DVD that includes beautiful clips from the film is available to accompany both of the adult education guides.  To order a free DVD and download the study guides, please go to:http://www.earthministry.org/nationalparks

Intro to Reiki
Interested in Reiki classes but not ready to commit to training? Come to an intro class and learn about the history of Reiki and how and why it is being used more frequently in healthcare settings to promote relaxation and wellness. Learn how Reiki is different from other healthcare modalities and how and why it is being integrated into Western medicine. Depending upon the class size, participants will receive a short Reiki treatment. Taught by Kathy Hefferman,

This day-long conference put on by Women of Vision, South Puget Sound Chapter, includes keynote presentations, breakout sessions, and information booths. The conference goal is to learn about local and international efforts to make a difference.

Celtic Way of Prayer

In the beauty of summer season, spend some time learning how The Celt's spiritual life revolved around their understanding of Divine Presence as experienced in all Creation. Explore encom- passing prayers, blessing prayers and folk prayers that are used to stay connected and mindful of the Presence. Presenter, Sr. Jane Comerford has been studying Celtic tradition for twenty years and has led many pilgrimages in Ireland.

Benedictine Retreat: Benedictine Life as Wholeness With The Rev. Dr. Martin Brokenleg

As contemporary Christians seek an effective and satisfying life, the way of St. Benedict, although old in years, is forever new and deep.
This retreat format class explores the balanced lifestyle set out in The Rule of Saint Benedict, allowing participants to learn experientially the practices of a wholesome Christian life. Martin Brokenleg is the Superior of the Anglican Benedictine Community in Saint Michael (www.osbcn.net). He has been a Benedictine Oblate of Blue Cloud Abbey (www.bluecloud.org) for 25 years, holds a doctorate in psychology, and has been an Anglican priest for 37 years.

Now I Lay Me Down to Sleep: Senior Adult Retreat

Rev. Carol Franklin Sutton will explore the practice and meanings of prayer: Does it really matter? How do we know it works? What forms of prayer are best for me? Franklin is a former director of Christian education at First Baptist Church, Washington, DC, and was on the staff at the Baptist Joint Committee there. She was also director of American Baptist Women's Ministries in Valley Forge, PA, and is currently a member of University Baptist Church.

God the Artist: We the Co-Creators
This day long retreat will stimulate the creative soul. Participants will focus on our Potter God, using clay materials. Please meet at the Priory Spirituality Center and drive to Walter and Renata Siegl's clay studio in Shelton with the group. The presenters will assist with participants' creations, and invite an attitude that all are artists and welcome to play and pray.

Doing Our Own Work: A Seminar for Anti-Racist White People led by Rev. Melanie S. Morrison and Rev. Diane S. Schmitz, MDiv (STM)
For 16 consecutive years, Doing Our Own Work (DOOW) has provided a unique context for white people who seek to deepen their commitment to challenging racism and white privilege. Offering more than 40 hours of class time, DOOW equips white people with the analysis, skills, and tools needed to be more effective anti-racist allies with people of color and to help bring about institutional change. If you are ready and eager to do some deep soul stretching, and exhilarating work with other white allies, this is the place for you!
